Fluffs Dog Grooming Covering Wigginton, York
Right on the doorstep of Haxby, tucked away in the charming village of Wigginton, Fluffs Dog Grooming offers a calm, boutique, one-on-one retreat for your dog, just a short stroll or a two-minute drive from Haxby’s busy high street.

Your local dog groomer, right here in Wigginton
Wigginton is home for Fluffs, and being your village groomer is something I am genuinely proud of. Many of the dogs I see are ones I pass on the walks around the village, out along the lanes towards the countryside or down by the recreation ground, so a lot of my clients feel like neighbours as much as customers, and I love that friendly, familiar feel.
Being right on your doorstep means grooming here could not be easier. There is no long drive and no hunting for a space, just a quick trip round and parking directly outside. Every appointment is a calm, one-to-one session with only your dog and me, never a crowded, noisy salon, and I am crate-free by choice so nervous dogs can settle in their own time. I hold Level 2 and 3 qualifications in dog grooming, which lets me read each coat and personality properly rather than follow a fixed routine.
The groomer behind Fluffs
I am Lucy, City and Guilds Level 2 and 3 qualified with specialist hand-stripping training. What really drives me is a genuine love of dogs and wanting each one to feel happy in my care. There is more about my background and qualifications on my About page.

A groom with me is thorough and unhurried. I begin with a warm bath and a good dry, then clip or scissor the coat to suit your dog, before finishing with nails and a gentle check and clean of the ears. Because I only take one dog at a time, I can pause for a fuss whenever they need it and truly get to know the shy ones over the visits.
From wriggly puppies having their very first visit to older dogs who have trusted me for years, I take my time with every single one, so they leave relaxed, comfortable and looking wonderful. If you are in Wigginton and want a groomer who treats your dog like one of the family, I would love to meet you both.

Common Questions
When can I bring my Wigginton puppy for their first appointment?
As your village groomer, I always look forward to meeting local puppies once they have completed their second set of vaccinations, usually at about 12 to 14 weeks. My Puppy Introduction sessions are short, gentle and packed with cuddles, so your little one comes to see the salon just round the corner as a happy, familiar place well before their first full groom is due.
How often should my dog be groomed?
For most dogs I suggest a full groom every six to eight weeks, which keeps the coat healthy and comfortable and stops knots forming between visits. Coats that grow quickly or hold more fluff often suit the shorter end, while smoother coats can happily stretch a little further. Being right here in the village, I can easily fit dogs in on a regular cycle, and I will recommend the timing that fits your dog best.
How long does a full groom take?
A full groom generally takes around two to three hours, depending on your dog's size and the state of their coat. I work one to one and never rush, and since I am right here in the village, you can easily pop home while you wait. I will send a quick text about fifteen minutes before your dog is ready, so you can wander round the corner and collect them looking their very best.
What is your cancellation and rebooking policy?
If you need to rearrange, I simply ask for at least 24 hours of notice so I can offer your slot to another dog on the waiting list. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a small fee, but I know things come up, so a quick message or a knock the day before is always perfectly fine and we will sort out a new time.
