Goldendoodle Dog Grooming by Fluffs

Dog Grooming for the Haxby & Wigginton Community

Owned and operated by Lucy—a former professional dog walker of three years—we understand that our local dogs lead active lives. Whether your pup has been tearing across Wigginton Moor or enjoying a muddy stroll around the Haxby Duck Pond, we’re here to transform "muddy" back into "magnificent."

A Professional Touch with a Walker’s Heart

What sets Fluffs apart is the combination of high-level qualification and genuine local experience. Lucy is both Level 2 and Level 3 Qualified, specifically trained in advanced styling and the intricate art of hand stripping. Because of her years spent handling a diverse pack as a walker, Lucy provides a one-to-one, gentle, and attentive environment. We don't use crates or rush our appointments; your dog is our sole focus, ensuring a stress-free experience for even the most nervous travelers coming from just across the way in Haxby.

Your dog means the world to you, so choosing the right groomer matters.

At Fluffs, grooming is not just about appearance; it is about comfort, care and trust.

I hold a Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and each appointment is a one-to-one experience tailored to your dog's breed, coat type and personality. I take time to understand what your dog needs and how they are feeling, ensuring every session is as relaxed and positive as possible.

From puppies learning the ropes to dogs who have been coming for years, every groom follows the same gentle approach.

FAQs

Common Questions

At what age should my puppy have their first groom?

I recommend bringing your little one in as soon as they’ve had their second set of vaccinations (usually around 12–14 weeks). my Puppy Introduction is all about "paws-itive" associations—we keep it short and sweet with lots of cuddles so they learn that the groomers is a fun place to be, not a scary one

How long does a full groom take at Fluffs?

On average, a Full Dog Groom takes between 2 to 3 hours, depending on your pup’s coat condition and size. We take our time to ensure every dog feels relaxed and pampered. We’ll give you a "heads up" text about 15 minutes before your best friend is ready for their red-carpet exit

Does hand stripping hurt my dog?

Not at all! When a coat is "blown" (ready to come out), hand stripping is a painless, natural process. It’s actually the best way to maintain the wire-hair texture and deep colour for breeds like Terriers. I have been expertly trained to do this gently, ensuring your pup stays comfortable throughout the session

What is your appointment & cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule. This allows me to offer the slot to a pup on our waiting list. Late cancellations or "no-shows" will be subject to a fee.
