Haxby and Wigginton sit side by side, so if you are here in Haxby my salon really is just around the corner, and I would love to meet you and your dog. Plenty of my regulars walk their dogs along Usher Lane, out towards the old railway path, or around the green near the village centre, and it is a real joy to welcome those same familiar faces in for a proper pamper afterwards.
What makes Fluffs a little different is the one-to-one attention. I only ever work with one dog at a time and I am crate-free by choice, so there is no noisy line of crates and no rushing. That calm, unhurried feel makes a genuine difference for anxious dogs and for puppies still finding their confidence. I hold Level 2 and 3 qualifications in dog grooming, and I always take a moment to learn your dog's little quirks before we begin.
Meet Lucy
I am City and Guilds Level 2 and 3 qualified, and I have never lost my soft spot for dogs of every shape and coat. Grooming, for me, is as much about a dog feeling calm and cared for as it is about a smart finish. You can read more about my training on my About page.
A groom with me is a gentle, thorough thing. I start with a warm bath and a full dry, then clip or scissor the coat to suit your dog, before finishing with nails and a proper check and clean of the ears. Whether your dog needs the full works, a neat tidy-up or simply a bath and brush, I go entirely at their pace, stopping for a reassuring fuss whenever they need one so nothing ever feels rushed.
Because we are practically neighbours, popping over from Haxby could not be simpler, with a short drive and easy parking right outside the salon. I will make sure your dog feels relaxed from start to finish and heads home soft, smart and thoroughly spoilt.

Common Questions
When should I bring my Haxby puppy in for the first time?
I would love to meet your puppy once they have had their second set of vaccinations, usually around 12 to 14 weeks old. My Puppy Introduction sessions are short, gentle and full of fuss, so your pup learns that grooming is nothing to worry about. Since we are practically neighbours in Haxby, a quick early visit is easy to fit in and sets them up beautifully for a lifetime of happy grooms.
How often do local dogs need a full groom?
As a general rule I recommend a full groom every six to eight weeks, which keeps the coat in good condition and stops matting building up between appointments. Dogs with thicker or quicker growing coats tend to suit the shorter end, while smoother coated dogs can often wait a little longer. When you first pop over from Haxby I will assess your dog's coat and suggest a cadence that truly suits them.
How long will my dog be with you for a groom?
Most full grooms take between two and three hours, depending on how big your dog is and what condition their coat is in. Working one to one means I never hurry your dog, and I will text you about fifteen minutes before they are ready. With the salon so close to Haxby, you can nip home or run an errand on the high street and be back just as your dog is finished.
What happens if I need to cancel or rearrange?
If your plans change, all I ask is at least 24 hours of notice so I can offer your appointment to another dog waiting for a slot. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a small fee, but I completely understand that things crop up, so please just get in touch as soon as you can and we will happily find a new time.
